Demise of ODS? In Eastern Europe nothing new
Analysis - The ruling Civic Democratic Party (ODS), which held a key congress this past weekend, is in serious trouble.
At the start of October, the party received 324,000 votes in the regional elections, or 12.4 percent of the total vote. It was its worst electoral result since its foundation in 1991. Some years ago, the ODS was routinely winning at least 700,000 votes in this type of elections... (read more here).

Ex-Im Bank to back Westinghouse's bid for Temelin deal
Revealed - Westinghouse, a US bidder for the Temelin nuclear plant expansion contract, possibly has a new ally to back it in its effort to secure the deal.
The Export-Import Bank, an US export credit agency, may provide loans and guarantees for the expansion project, which will consist of the construction of the third and fourth reactors of the plant... (read more here).

Former spy Randak charged with personal data abuse
Revealed - Karel Randak, a former chief of the Czech foreign intelligence service, was charged with abuse of personal data in connection to leaking of two payroll documents at the start of this year.
The documents, eventually published by this newspaper, revealed huge bonuses awarded Jana Nagyova, a then-aide to PM Petr Necas... (read more here).
