Prague - Earning the trust of Czechs is a hard task, indeed. The latest poll on trust in police revealed two thirds of Czechs do not trust police officers and now about the same number seems to mistrust the Czech judicial system.

The latest poll conducted by STEM agency in June found that of the surveyed 1244 adult respondents, only 3 percent gave a positive evaluation of the current judicial system, while 48 percent of Czechs are convinced Czech judges do not perform very high.

Everything but impartial

Also notable is that more than more than half of the Czech voters do not believe Czech judges are fair and impartial.

A mere one third of respondents expressed a positive attitude towards the Czech judicial system.

The poll found that 72 percent of the surveyed respondents doubt the impartiality of the court system. One third of Czech voters reported an absolute mistrust of the judicial system.

The respondents´ views were largely influenced by their political preferences. Civic Democrats´ voters gave a much more positive review of the Czech court system than any voter leaning to the left.
