Prague - Qatar prince  feels offended because of Czech justice. He finds the latest decision of the regional court in Prague unfair.

So he decided to step in and participate in the ongoing trial, informed Týden.cz weekly.

Prague´s regional court received a requestl filed by the Qatar prince who is interested in becoming an enjoined party in the current dispute.

Judge Vojtěch Cepl pointed out similarities in the investigation of controversial politician Jiří Čunek, head of Christian Democrats, and in the case against Hamid bin Abdul Sani.

Cepl believes there were behind-the-scene negotiations that involved the same people employed in the Czech justice system in both cases. Cepl called the people involved "judicial mafia".

Prince Sani finds this statement highly unjust.

In 2005 Qatari Prince Hamid bin Abdul Sani al-Thani was convicted of having sex with four underage girls.

Former Justice Minister Pavel Němec was trying to send the prince back to Qatar after Qatari authorities assured him that prince Sani would face prosecution there.

Czech prosecutors ignored Němec´s efforts to extradite prince Sani and went on to sentence the prince to 30 months in prison.

Nonetheless, Pavel Němec eventually extradited the convicted prince back to Qatar which dropped all the charges against the prince in mid-March this year.

Central Bohemian region's judge Vojtěch Cepl confirmed the prince wants to participate in the case. It will be judge Cepl who will decide whether he will be allowed to do so or not.

Lawyers oppose

Legal representatives of Supreme State Attorneys Marie Benešová and Renata Vesecká oppose the possibility of the prince joining the tiral.

"The law indeed enables an enjoined party at a trial. However, the verdict of the trial must somehow be related to him, which I cannot imagine in this case. The Central Bohemia´s court ruling did not commented on the guilt or character of the prince, it only stated his cause was influenced by the same people as in the Čunek case and that the Qatar prince eventually avoided punishment," said Petr Hála, legal adviser of Marie Benešová to Týden.cz.

Legal adviser of Vesecká however denies they would be involved in the prince's latest interest to join the trial:

"The prince had probably read the ruling on internet and wants to fight for his rights. He doesn't agree with the notion that his case was influenced by some people and wants tomake it clear he did not influence anybody. We don't agree with his request to be part of the trial, so we filed an objection," Týden.cz quoted Vesecká´s lawyer Peter Toman.
