Pilsen - Police ended a concert in Pilsen House of Culture Jas because of neo-Nazi lyrics of a song played by one of the performing bands.
As Pilsen region's spokesperson told press agency ČTK, around one hundred of far-right supporters attended the Sunday concert.
The concert was officially permitted but police had monitored the event due to a certain degree of risk. As soon as one of the bands performed a song which contained words to stir up racial hatred, the police called on the organizer to end the concert.
Since the organizers did not obey the police instruction, police intervened and brought the ultra-right fans out of the concert hall. Some of them were taken to police to be charged with race hate offences.
Protesting against Gipsy.cz
On Saturday a handful of radicals protested in Prague against Roma-based band Gipsy.cz representing the Czech Republic in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Mostly the National Party supporters said that the nomination of Gipsy.cz was a discrimination against other Czech bands, since there was no official contests organized this year.
Gipsy.cz is the first Czech band that "made" it for the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Moscow in April 20.
