Schwarzenberg: Czech Rep to sign EU fiscal pact in one year

Behind the scenes - The Czech Republic will sign the EU fiscal union treaty in one year, said Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg (TOP 09) to Czech Insider. "I believe that in one year the pact will be approved. Czech authorities will not join Swiss MUS case yet

Revealed - Czech authorities have decided to postpone their efforts to join the criminal case against former MUS managers prosecuted in Switzerland as an aggrieved party. After the negative verdict of a Swiss court in March 2012, the outcome of the lawsuit is extremely uncertain. The defendants, six former managers of Czech coal company MUS, believe they will be acquitted of the fraud charges... (Read more here)

Dvorak's allies in Prague Transport Comp awarded millions in bonuses

Revealed - At the end of 2011, seven senior managers of the public Prague Transport Company (DPP) linked to former CEO Martin Dvorak received in total CZK 8.6 million (EUR 344,000) in special bonuses, Czech Insider learned from an internal billing document. For example, Economic Director Ivo Stika was awarded a bonus of CZK 948,000 to his monthly salary in December 2011 and again in the first two months of 2012... (Read more here)
