Prague - Holidaymakers around the world should be careful in which European city they are planning to spend their days off in order to avoid unpleasant surprises.
While they should expect the worst food, dirt and highest prices in London, unfriendly people in Paris and pure boredom in Brussels, they could enjoy a clean environment in Denmark's Copenhagen and romantic atmosphere in Venice.
A poll conducted by the TripAdvisor (www.tripadvisor.com) surveyed 2,400 travelers and was published on Monday.
"Europe's capital cities all have their highs and lows, but no other continent offers travelers' such a wealth of culture and sights within such short distances," TripAdvisor spokesman Luke Fredberg said in a statement.
Prague top bargain
Prague may not have the friendliest service and its taxi drivers are world famous for ripping off anyone who looks like a tourist - including mayor Pavel Bém who was famously posing with a fake moustache on his undercover inspection trip - but the city of thousand spires was still selected as the best bargain destination.
London and Paris redeemed itself in the poll with Paris voted as having the best cuisine and best-dressed people, while London was seen as having the best nightlife, best public parks and most free attractions.
Respondents also found Brussels to be the most boring city in Europe, with Switzerland's Zurich a close-runner up.
