Prague - When buying a car, Czechs usually consider first the price and comfort, then the rest. Fast expensive cars over CZK a million attract Czechs only exceptionally, according to the latest survey conducted by Median.
The most common price Czechs are willing to pay for their buggies is between CZK 50,000 - 200,000. About 15 percent of respondents own a car below CZK 50,000.
Fast cars not that popular
Not the entire fourth of respondents bought a car between CZK 50,000 - 100,000 and about the same number of people bought a car that cost almost CZK 200,000.
Only 5 percent of Czechs have a car that cost them more than CZK 600,000 and only 2.2 percent of Czechs paid CZK one million for their automobile.
Among the most important factors for car buyers are a low price, a low fuel consumption and comfort.
Safety features seems to be a secondary aspect for Czechs. Only seven percent of them care about the car's safety.
Living without a car? No way
Another poll conducted by GE Money Auto indicated that two thirds of Czechs cannot imagine not having a car. That makes them slightly "more modest" than Germans, Hungarians and Poles.
Czechs use cars mostly to commute. One exception makes Czechs unique compared to the rest of Europeans, though, they use cars to get to their favorite weekend place, that is to a cottage. Seven percent of Czechs own a car just because of that.
