Albania debacle: CEZ may lose EUR 60mil World Bank guarantee

Revealed - On January 22, Albania appointed Sait Dollapi as  administrator to take control of CEZ Shperndarje, an Albanian subsidiary of Czech semi-state energy company CEZ. This took place one day after Albania had taken away CEZ's license to sell and distribute electric power in Albania.

"Albania will cost us 205 million euro at the most," said CEZ board member Tomas Pleskac... (read more here).

 

Ambassador to Berlin Jindrak considered for defense minister

Behind the scenes - Since December 2012, Prime Minister Petr Necas (ODS) has been looking for a new defense minister.

Some officials from the ruling Civic Democratic Party (ODS) as well as independent sources say that the most likely candidate for the post is current ambassador to Germany Rudolf Jindrak.
