Radovan Krejcir: Czech link to South Africa's mafia violence

Foreign - Radovan Krejcir and Emmanuel "Lolly" Jackson, a notorious South African mob boss, were reportedly involved in money laundering and Lolly owed Krejcir ZAR 1 million (EUR 77,000). When Lolly was murdered in 2010, Krejcir became one of the suspects.

Krejcir denied these accusations, but admitted in a book about the South African mafia that he had been one of the first to see Lolly's corpse and that he had detailed knowledge of the crime scene and the murder itself... (read more here).

 

Official: Temelin expansion will cost EUR 10.8 billion

Interview - Czech State Nuclear Safety Authority chairwoman Dana Drabova said that the expanded Temelin will need some kind of state support. "At this moment, in Europe it is not possible to build a nuclear energy source without some kind of state guarantee. This is because in the deformed nuclear market the price of electricity is at EUR 40 per megawatt hour. Nobody will build non-subsidized sources..." (read more here).

 

Czech JAS-39 Gripen jets to obtain LINK-16 software

Revealed - Thanks to a new lease contract that is currently being prepared, the Czech military's JAS-39 Gripen jets will become fully compatible with the armed forces of other NATO states. The contract will oblige the Swedish manufacturer to equip the aircraft with the US-made LINK-16 software.

The LINK-16 software allows the aircraft to get information about the enemy from the AWACS and NATO bases equipped with the program... (read more here).
