Prague - Developer firm Finep initiated yesterday a grand housing project called "Western Zone" or "Western City". The new zone will be built in Prague 13.
The costs of the first phase of construction are estimated roughly at CZK 6 billion (240 million euro). The area covering fourteen hectares will encompass residential, commercial and office buildings as well as green parks.
The area will be dominated by a ten-storey diamond-shaped building surrounded by five-storey H-letter shaped administrative buildings.

"New lively area"
The first part of the Western City is expected to be completed in 2012.
"Building of three administrative buildings is going to kick off a complex transformation of the whole area. One hundred and fifty hectares of undeveloped land will be replaced by a lively residential and administrative quarter for as many as 35 thousand people," said Petr Šimon from Skanska CZ, a company that won the contract to build the first phase of the new quarter project.
