Two police officers arrested for embezzlement

More police arrested for fraud and misappropriation

Praha - Czech Interior Ministry´s inspection arrested four police officers from the Prague - Bohnice Department. Allegedly, they were handing out fines without receipts, and the money collected went straight into their pockets.

"This morning [Wednesday] two police officers were charged, and soon there is going to be another one," Ministry spokesperson Vladimír Řepka said to Aktuálně.cz.

The officers are to be tried at large, says Řepka.

Řepka declined to specify how much money the police officers made by handing out fines without receipts, saying the conclusions called SVOKR is to be known on Thursday.

This is not the first case of police investigating their colleagues. At the beginning of August the police arrested two high-ranked police officers that are suspected of car insurance fraud. They are in custody now.

Skull Hunter hunted

The two men reported set-up car thefts or breaking in cars. After a few months of investigation, the police found the car parts used in other vehicles. The damage estimated by the police  is CZK 4 million.

The media has recently reported the police have been investigating a special investigative team´s boss, known as Skull Hunter. The insvestigative team is in charge of enquiring the case of the most wanted perpetrator Radovan Krejčíř, who is in hiding at an unknown place.

Towards the end of June, Police Headquarters´ deputy dismissed the boss of Directorate of Administrative Activity Service Antonín Kreml. He has been accused of illegal arms trade.
