Prague - Roughly 42 billion euro went to the pockets of the ten largest Czech companies last year.

This fact becomes clear in the list of the most important companies in Czech economy. The prestige competition is organized annually by the Czech Top 100 association.

The first place is again occupied by the Škoda motor works of Mladá Boleslav. This company has dominted the list for the last ten years.

Škoda's first place is secure

The second position goes to the ČEZ electricity company, while the third place has been taken by the Foxconn computer producer that has also won an award for the most dynamic company of the year.

Škoda Auto is the largest Czech exporter and added-value producer. However, ČEZ leads in profit growth, since last year it gained one third more than in 2006.

Diversified economy

"Good results of Czech firms are underlined by representatives of seven different (economic) sectors being present in the top ten. Czech economy is thus not dependent on one or two industrial branches, but it can glance off from such a wide spectrum," the president of Czech Top 100 Jan Struž commented the results.

The biggest leap was performed by AAA Auto company that with their revenues of CZK 13 billion (0.54 billion euro) moved ahead by 28 positions and occupies 54th place.

A prize for the best bank for companies has been awarded to ČSOB, as selected by private company financial directors. The second was Komerční banka, the third was Citibank.
