Protest of Roma in Lysá nad Labem: low numbers, high resolve
While the Milovice Roma participants saw the problem in the poor performance of the organizers.
Former local pastor and his wife were among the few non-Roma people who came to say no to the growing extremism. We have seen where it leads to, if left unchecked, he said, mentioning the World War Two.
A local Roma woman was saddened by the low turnout, having proposed to stage another protest soon and inform the locals about it in advance.
The Milovice Roma community stands firmly together and pledged with the organizers to help unify all the other Roma communities.

Czech Roma and their sympathisers took to the squares of 13 Czech cities and towns on Sunday May 3 to protest against the growing extremism and xenophobia. Never before have the Roma communities got together on such a massive scale. In Lysá nad Labem, some 30 km east of Prague, however, only a handful showed up. There has been some disagreement over the failure to attract more.
