Prague - Which Czech bureau is the most consistent in giving its female employees equal opportunities?
The organizers of the competition called "Bureau of the Year: Half-and-Half" decided to find out. The competition is organized by Czech Interior Ministry and Gender Studies institute in Prague.
The second volume of the competition focused on what Czech bureaus do in order to support their employees in their attempts to harmonize personal and professional life.

Flextime, part-time, or work from home?
Among regional authorities, South Moravia was chosen as the best in trying to promote equal opportunities for women employees.
"The commission evaluated questionnaires asking whether their female employees may have flextime and part-time work or from home," Hana Malá from the Minstry´s Press Department said to Aktuálně.cz.
Among other criteria was the number of women holding senior posts and what the ratio of women and men holding high-ranking positions is. The bureaus were also asked whether they apply any anti-discrimination measures.

A handbook to guide
Prague 10 was chosen the best city part authority, while Žlutice was voted the best municipality.
The smallest and the most effective authority providing the best care to its emploees is the municipal office in Milotice, South Moravian Region.
Sixty-two local authorities participated in the competition.
The competition was first organized last year with 39 bureaus attending. The results were complied in a handbook, which was handing out to the local authorities. The purpose of the competition is to help the authorities to turn the ideals of gender equality into reality.
