Lobbyist Kuzmiak to become consul general in Shanghai

Revealed - Michal Kuzmiak will be appointed to the post of consul general in China, Czech Insider learned from Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg.

Kuzmiak is a lobbyist with close ties to Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek (TOP 09) and arms dealer Richard Hava. Kalousek and Hava - as well as Hava's firm OMNIPOL - have made headlines recently in connection with the ongoing CASA aircraft scandal... (read more here)

CASA scandal: Crown witness paid by Omnipol

Behind the scenes - Karel Danhel, a key witness in the CASA aircraft acquisition case, was arrested last week for sexual abuse, only to be released again in less than 24 hours after the alleged victim, a 14-year old girl, admitted that the accusation was false.

A week before, the Czech media reported that the same man had been paid by Omnipol, a company that acted as an intermediary in the overpriced acquisition of CASA aircraft... (read more here)

Jan Fisher hires McCain's PR expert

Revealed - The first direct presidential election in the Czech Republic may get a touch of US political campaigns.
The leading candidate Jan Fisher has hired a man who directly participated in the last US presidential election battle in 2008 that brought Barack Obama to power.
