CEZ chief Daniel Benes may lose his position

Sources from CEZ, the Czech energy sector giant, say that CEO Daniel Benes may lose his job. Strategic division director Pavel Cyrani is considered Benes' most likely successor. It would be the largest change in the state-owned company's management since Martin Roman stepped down as CEO in 2011. Roman was replaced by Daniel Benes, who started to implement changes in the management structure of CEZ daughter companies... (Read more here)

Police want to prosecute ex-Defense Minister Parkanova for Omnipol deal

Novaya Gazeta journalist details death threats from senior official

Foreign - Sergei Sokolov, deputy editor-in-chief of Russia's Novaya Gazeta newspaper, hastily left the country. "There are direct and real concerns for his life. Sokolov was threatened by the very chairman of the Russian Investigation Committee. That's why we sent him abroad," Sokolov's colleague from Novaya Gazeta Vitaly Yaroshevsky said to Czech Insider...
