Mladá Boleslav - In the first time of its history, the Skoda company has produced more than one million automobiles in one single year. The millionth car – a white Skoda Fabia – will be driven by the employees of the non-profit organization Život dětem (Life for children). Its representatives have taken over the car during the festivity organized in the Skoda Car‘s factory museum.

The Skoda company has sold one million cars this year as well. At the same festivity, a client from the Czech Republic has taken over his green Skoda Octavia RS.

All together, ten factories have taken part in producing one million Skoda automobiles this year. Two of them are situated in the Czech Republic (in Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny), one in the Slovakia (in Bratislava), two in Russia (in Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod), two in India (in Aurangabad and Pune) and three in China (Ningpo, I Tcheng and Anting).

The largest share of the overall production is to be contributed to the factories in the Czech Republic. In Mladá Boleslav, 457 900 Skoda cars have been produced. The numbers from Kvasiny amounted to 160 500 cars. In both cases, the overall numbers come from the end of November.

The most produced Skoda company‘s car is Octavia with 375 600 pieces, followed by Rapid (215 100), Fabia (156 900) and Yeti (103 700).

Today, Skoda cars are being sold in more than one hundred countries. By far the largest market is represented by China, where more than 250 000 Skoda cars have been sold until November, followed by Germany (138 100), Russia (78 200), Great Britain (72 000) and the Czech Republic (65 000).

In all of these most important markets, with the exception of Russia, where a one-percent drop has been registered, the sales have been rising in a double-digit tempo value.
