Prague - Czech football fans that are going to visit matches of the European Championship in Switzerland and Austria this month may seek help in special information and assitence stands, the 'fan embassies.'

Trained volunteers will, for example, inform fans about tickets, accommodation, dining and transport options, as well as supplemental programs.

The fan ambassadors will also be in touch with first aide and other medical services.

Fan-specific matters

"Apart from providing general information on issues that would customarily be found in a tourist information office, Fans' Embassies will be the go-to location for tournament and fan-specific matters such as ticket availability, public viewing facilities, locally applicable legislation, stadium regulations, match-day arrangements, etc.," says the website www.fanguide2008.net.

Stationary embassies will be mostly located in immediate proximity to places of official match screenings or in city centers.

In addition to that, there are going to be mobile fan embassies organized by individual countries whose teams have qualified for the tournament.

In touch with Czech police

The Czech team consists of four ambassadors that have experiences from Euro 2004 in Portugal, as well as from the 2006 World Championship in Germany.

The Czech fan embassy will be moving together with the Czech football team and will be able to mediate communication with the actual Czech embassies for cases of missing travel documents, and will have telephone numbers of Czech police teams in Switzerland and Austria.
