Lukoil Czech Republic switches to franchise model

Business - Lukoil Czech Republic, a Russian company that operates 43 gas stations in the Czech Republic, plans to change its business model to a franchise system. The company will no longer directly operate its gas stations, instead it will lease them to independent operators, said Bulat Subajev, Lukoil chief for Central Europe and Benelux, to Czech Insider.

Foreign Ministry plans to sell Berlin embassy building

Behind the scenes - The Czech diplomatic service wants to sell the building of the Czech embassy in Berlin, largely because of its costly operation and maintenance.

"We could establish several offices all over the world for what we pay for utilities in Berlin, this is also a reason. We do not want to keep it just out of respect for the 1970s architecture," said Deputy Foreign Minister Jiri Schneider... (read more here).

 

Prague municipalities may lose tens of millions in shady bond deals

Revealed - By the end of 2012, the Borsay company was supposed to repay a total of CZK 130 million (EUR 5.2 million) to its bondholders. However, the money never arrived to the clients' accounts, and it is very unlikely that this is just a simple delay.
