Crash course in winter urban homeless survival
Cacao for breakfast. We are never hungry, say Pepe and Pepe.
Bread with a smoked fish. They have enough tobacco, too - in the night, Pepe went to Prague's Central Railway Station to collect cigarette butts. Rolling paper is one of the few commodities they buy instead of collecting them.
Division of labor: The older Pepe (54 years), who has been living on the streets of Prague for 5 years, searches trash cans for useful stuff, knows which shops throw away pastry, where they can get vegetables, etc. The younger Pepe (42 years) collect metal and returnable bottles. In addition, he is the fire keeper.
Since the beginning of 2010, they have no shortage of firewood. Silver Fir makes the best fire, on the contrary pines produce awful smoke that makes passers-by complain. The cleaver was "bought" in a waste container.
