Most of the popular anger is directed not only against the government of once popular Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, who announced his resignation last week, but also against foreign investors in the Balkan country's electricity distribution network, which are almost universally blamed for the high prices... Trouble ahead? President Zeman and BIS security agency

Behind the scenes - President elect Milos Zeman will be sworn in office on March 8. Importantly, among the Czech president's powers is to task intelligence and security agencies, for example the Security Information Service (BIS), and receive information from them.

Industry Minister Kuba to visit Westinghouse's US plant

Behind the scenes - Czech Industry Minister Martin Kuba will visit a factory in the USA's South Carolina, used by American-Japanese company Westinghouse to produce nuclear reactors. Westinghouse is one of the two bidders for a multi-billion euro public contract to build two new reactors at the Temelin nuclear plant. Its rival is Russian state nuclear agency Rosatom...
